springs
« Back to Glossary Index
All across the earth, there is water in the ground. If you dig down a few feet into the soil in most places, you will feel that the soil is moist. If the water bubbles to the surface naturally – because of pressure or gravity – it is called a spring. Water that resides in the ground is called groundwater, and concentrations of groundwater are called aquifers.
